ABOUT US

WHO?

Finding Family Photos, Inc. (FFP Inc.) was incorporated in January 2021 under the laws of the State of Florida with the purpose of preserving antique and vintage photographs for educational/genealogy purposes.  FFP Inc. was granted tax exempt 501( c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service on 27APR2021.

WHAT?

FFP Inc. is on a rescue mission to save as many antique and vintage photographs as possible and to assemble a library of those photographs in hopes that they will be reunited with their families.  Additional photographs are obtained and posted to the Finding Family Photos, Inc. regularly.

WHERE?

We search for these priceless treasures in antique stores, estate sales, auctions, and more.   We also receive photographs from generous donors who send photographs found in similar places as well as those photographs inherited from family members.

WHY?

Once an antique photograph is separated from its family, it risks being lost forever.  Estate sale professionals and antique dealers have told us of entire collections being thrown in the trash.   Sometimes there are no known living relatives of the estate.  Sometimes there were strained relationships within the family.  Sometimes photographs were hidden in books or other items that were sold.

We are seeking to save as many of these as possible and reunite them with their families.

WANT TO HELP?

You can assist us in saving pieces of history by becoming a member, donating photographs, and/or making a cash donation.  Most of all, please tell your friends and family about us.  If you are in possession of antique/vintage photographs which have names written on them or if you are in the estate sale business and find abandoned photographs,  please consider donating those photographs to be included in our library.  As a 501( c)(3) tax exempt organization, donations are tax deductible.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE A SUBSCRIPTION FEE?

Sadly, the antique photographs we obtain can be quite expensive.  We began by purchasing one photo at a time and researching via online genealogy sites such as Ancestry to find the families.  This took weeks or even months.

After learning that such photographs are sometimes discarded, we knew we were racing against the clock.  The older the photograph, the more likely it is to be unique.  If discarded, it is gone forever.   We believe everyone should have the opportunity to find their loved ones!  For that reason, we purposely made our subscription price to be about the same as the cost one latte.  And, as a non-profit, every dime we receive goes to one purpose - to save these priceless photographs.

By supporting our mission, you not only allow us to locate and post additional antique photographs, we may even find someone who belongs in your family tree.  We cannot guarantee it but we will not stop looking as long as we have resources to do so.
